William "Bill" Burnett

William "Bill" Burnett, 58, died suddenly at his home on July 6. Bill was born in Charlotte, NC on July 6, 1955. He had previously lived in Ft. Lauderdale, FL before returning to Gastonia to care for his parents. He was devoted to his family, loved cooking, gardening, and enjoyed antique hunting. He was a graduate of Hunter Huss High School, class of 1972. He was formerly employed with the family business, Burnett Machine Co. Inc. He is survived by his parents, Robert "Bob" Burnett and Sara McCorkle Burnett; niece, Cheryl Burnett; and nephew, Rodney Burnett. He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Burnett. Memorial Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 20 th at Benson Funeral Services Chapel with Rev. Dwayne Burks officiating. Inurnment will be private.
