Wanda Kay Plyler

Wanda Kay Plyler, 64, of Mooresville, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Cabarrus County on May 3, 1955, the daughter of the late William Luther Byrd, Sr. and Gladys Mann Byrd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William Byrd and Mike Byrd. Wanda was a founding member of Liberty Baptist Church and has attended since 1977. She worked as a child care provider for the majority of her life. Wanda loved her church family at Liberty Baptist and always said her favorite part about the church was participating in the Bus Ministry. She was a loving and caring mother and friend who fought hard through anything that came her way. Heaven has gained an amazing angel and a strong warrior. 

Wanda is survived by her son, Ronald Eugene Owens, Jr.; and a special friend and caregiver, Victoria Dixon.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2020, 1:00 P.M., at Liberty Baptist Church, 3000 Sam Wilson Road, Charlotte, NC 28214 with Dr. Gary Berry officiating. A visitation will be held from 12:00 - 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will follow the services at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208.
