Tyson J. Wilson, the son of Markus and Ruth Davies Wilson, born in Johnson City, New York on November 17, 1995, passed away at the young age of 28. Tyson was a loving father to his daughter, Nico, and his passion for family was evident throughout his life. As a 2014 graduate of Olympic High School in Charlotte, NC, Tyson carried a sense of pride in his accomplishments and always sought to forge meaningful connections with those around him.
Tyson was known for his vibrant spirit, underscored by his diverse interests and hobbies. A devoted sports fan, he passionately followed the Green Bay Packers and held a special admiration for Kobe Bryant. Additionally, Tyson’s loyalty to the Duke Blue Devils reflected his fervent love of sports and competitive spirit. His interest in anime also added depth to his unique personality, often providing him with a creative outlet and a way to connect with others who shared similar interests.
He is survived by his parents, Markus and Ruth Davies Wilson; his beloved daughter, Nico Wilson; his brother, Gregg Wilson; his maternal grandmother, Donna Allen; his maternal grandfather, James Davies; his paternal grandparents, Isaac and Annie Wilson; uncles, Emory "Joey" Davies, Joshua Davies (Corinne), and Robert Davies (Anna); aunts, Jean Dismuke and Laurie Wilson; and a host of sisters and cousins, all of whom will miss his warmth and enthusiasm.
Tyson's legacy, enriched by the love he shared with his family and his friends, will continue to resonate with those who knew him. He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Melvin and Edith Hintz.
A memorial service to honor Tyson’s memory will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 7:00 PM at Benson Funeral & Cremation, located at 101 Oak Grove St., Mt. Holly, NC 28120. It will be an opportunity for family and friends to come together, share cherished memories, and remember the bright light that Tyson brought into their lives. Additionally, there will be a visitation one hour prior to the service also on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location.
Tyson J. Wilson will be remembered for his love and passion for sports, and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.
