Thomas Wheat

Thomas Aaron Wheat, 87, of Charlotte passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2021, while surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Wheat was born in High Point, NC on May 21, 1933 to the late Lee and Estelle Roach Wheat. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Holston Wheat, a brother, Horace Wheat, and sisters, Edna Grubbs, and Lois Burton. Thomas was known as "Uncle Red" and was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict, he was also a 33rd Degree Mason. He loved his family and was a grandfather not only to his grandchildren but to all his nieces and nephews as well. He was a caring person who helped many people throughout his life. Uncle Red loved his dog tremendously, but his true love was his tractor. Over the years, he spent many days playing with his tractors. He will forever be missed.

Thomas is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Candi Wheat Lethcoe and John; son, Tommy Wheat; son and daughter-in-law, Billy Wheat and Trudi; brother and sister-in-law, Gerald Wheat and Carol; and grandsons, Shawn, Aaron, and Wyatt.
