Ted Junior Cherry

Ted Junior Cherry, 65, of Stanley, passed away October 13, 2015 at Gastonia Care & Rehab Center. Mr. Cherry was born in Gaston County on April 17, 1950 to the late Ted L. Cherry and Myrtle Morton Sutton. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife Iris Williams Cherry. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in Vietnam.

Survivors include his daughter, April Cherry Jenkins and husband Jamey and son Jody Cherry. 3 grandchildren, Kaleigh, Kloe and Brawle. Sisters, Joann Benfield, Linda Bratcher and husband John and brother Rick Cherry and wife Barbara.

The family will receive friends Tuesday October 20 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Benson Funeral Services in Mt. Holly. Inurnment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Hospice of Gaston County, PO Box 2258, Gastonia, NC 28054. The family would like to thank Hospice staff, as well as, the staff of Gastonia Care and Rehab Center for taking such great care of Ted during his final days.
