Surry Gilbert "Tuddy" Curtis

Surry Gilbert "Tuddy" Curtis, 60, of Stanley passed away January 3, 2015 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas. Ms. Curtis was born in Gaston County on August 19, 1955 to the late Paul and Lenore Whitaker Gilbert. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Larry and Jimmy Gilbert. Tuddy had worked as a machine operator in the Textile Industry and loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed camping and the outdoors throughout her life.
Survivors include her daughter Amanda Curtis and fiance' David Bolick, Jr. of Stanley. Grandchildren, Alyssa, Janessa, Mackenzie and Savannah. Sisters, Vickie Keever, Ann Curtis and her husband John Edward and Polly Eury all of Stanley and a brother, Steve Gilbert of Alexis.
Funeral Services will be held to celebrate Tuddy's life at 2:00 PM Wednesday Jan. 6 at Benson Funeral Services in Mt. Holly with Rev. Charles Curtis officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
