Shirley Reeves Smith

Shirley Reeves Smith, 85, of Mt. Holly passed away February 6, 2023 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.  She was born on December 27, 1937 to the late Ronald and Nita Edwards Reeves.  She is also preceded in death by her sons, Ronald "Butch" Smith and Douglas Smith; and sisters, Betty Igo and Carol Newberry; and her pet cat, Angel.

Shirley enjoyed the beach and the ocean water.  She loved food, loved to gamble at Casino's, listening to music, and being the jokester amongst her family and friends.  She loved cats and red cardinal birds.  She enjoyed life, loved to laugh, and have fun.

Survivors include her children, Jackie Cottrell and husband Gary, Robert Smith, and Jerome Bryan Smith; brother, Don Reeves and wife Karon; 9 Grandchildren, Joseph, Shaun, Brandon, Jonathan, Cody, Leann, Brandon, Bob Jr., and Doug; and 7 Great Grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Benson Funeral Services, Mt. Holly.
