Sharon Elaine Richards

Sharon Elaine Richards, 66, of Charlotte passed away on July 29, 2022 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.  She was born on January 9, 1956 to Grace Price Godwin and the late Paul Deberry Godwin.  She is also preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Godwin.  Sharon was a long time member of Liberty Baptist Church where she loved serving in the nursery and the food pantry.  She enjoyed visiting the mountains but loved the beach best.  She had a green thumb with gardening and flowers.  Sharon loved her family and her pet dog, Bailey.

Survivors include her husband, Dave Richards; children, Mandy Speilman, David Speilman, Elizabeth Speilman, Laura Richards Galloway (Justin), and Benjamin Richards; siblings, Charlotte Mauney, Barbara Hailey, Olin Godwin (Ella), and David Godwin; sister in law, Brenda Godwin; special cousins, Steve and Edna Clontz; and grandchildren, Naeema, Kaylee, Kaia, Kehlani, Nathan, and Isaac.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, 3000 Sam Wilson Rd., Charlotte, NC 28214, with Rev. Dr. Gary Berry officiating.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 12 p.m.  Burial will immediatly follow at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, Mt. Holly.
