Roy Medric Wheeler

Roy Medric Wheeler, 92, of Charlotte passed away on April 22, 2024 at VIA Hospice Care at Southminster with his loving family by his side. Roy was born July 22, 1931 in Monmouth, Ill. to the late Alfred and Blanche King Wheeler.  Roy was a retired Lt. Colonel of the US Air Force where he did tours to France, Germany, Taiwan, Chile, Panama, and Vietnam. He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Joan B Wheeler and Daughters, Lori Wheeler Hardy and Lynn Wheeler Piper.
He is survived by his Sons, Scott L. Wheeler and wife Bonnie, Mark R. Wheeler and wife Jeanie, and John P Wheeler and wife Missy; Grandchildren, Michael Wheeler, Aigul Arystanove, Jon King, Thesh Gebray, Nigora Dossova, Nikki Wheeler, Ashley Hardy, Brandon Hardy, Lindsey Hardy, J.R. Piper, Mykola Kyzyma, and Matthew Wheeler; 9 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; Sister, Charlotte Wheeler Larson; and many Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Saint Ann Catholic Church from 7:30 to 8:30pm.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Saint Ann Catholic Church in Charlotte, NC at 10:30 am with Father Timothy Reid officiating.
Burial will follow at the V.A. National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC
