Roland William Hager, a beloved pillar in his family, passed away on February 27, 2025, at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born in Gaston County to the late Tuttle Ombley Hager and Pearlie Evans Cope Hager on March 21, 1938, and his journey through life was nothing short of remarkable.
Roland was a devoted husband, celebrating an incredible 68 years with his loving wife, Charlene Hager. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home, where love flourished and memories were made. His dedication to family extended beyond his marriage, as he embraced the roles of father and grandfather with unwavering commitment. Roland was a great teacher to his children, instilling in them the values of kindness, responsibility, and resilience. He dedicated himself to their growth, always encouraging their dreams and celebrating their achievements.He is survived by his wife Charlene Hager and cherished children: Billy Hager (Elizabeth), Jennifer Loveall, and Dr. Bobby Hager (Ellen). Each of them carries forward his legacy of love and strength. Roland found immense joy in being a grandfather, creating precious bonds with his four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren. The laughter and joy he shared with them will forever echo in their hearts.
Throughout his life, Roland touched the lives of many, and his memory will be lovingly cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He worked 30+ years at Duke Power and operated a successful electrical contracting business Stanley Electric. As they navigate life without him, his family will hold onto the lessons he imparted and the love he shared—an enduring testament to a life beautifully lived.
