Roger Glenville Worley

Roger Glenville Worley, 75, of Belmont passed away Monday April 11, 2016 at Caromont Regional Health Center in Gastonia after a short illness . Roger was born on July 30, 1940 in Gaston County to the late Vivian and Maeona Stiles Worley. He is also preceded in death by his wife Martha Worley, son Darrell Worley and a grandson Roger David Worley. Roger worked in Textiles but was a “Jack Of All Trades”. He did mechanic work, loved boats, was an avid fisherman and was also a fishing guide. He grew up in Western Carolina where he loved the mountains. Roger was a great story teller and will be missed by all who knew him. 

Survivors include his children, Tony Doug Worley, Eric Worley (Rose), Connie Worley and Pam Worley. Sister Kay Patton and 8 grandchidren and 9 great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday April 14 at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Liberty, NC (Murphy) with Rev. Kenny Housley officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service, also at the graveside.
