Roger Dale Thornburg

Roger Dale Thornburg, 43, of Gastonia passed away February 4, 2017 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. Roger was born in Kings Mountain on May 1, 1973 to Danny Thornburg and Patty Ann Hunt Hawkins. Roger loved the mountains and enjoyed fishing, the beach and loved both Rock and Country music. He is preceded in death by his brother Danny “Little Danny” Thornburg Jr. and a sister Amy Thornburg. Survivors include his mother Patty Ann Hawkins and stepfather Lee Burgin, Jr. and father Danny Thornburg and stepmother Dorcas. Daughters, Kayla and Andrea Thornburg. Sister, Sheena Thornburg and Brother Billy Ray Thornburg and wife Robin. Grandchildren, Thatcher, Layla, Jennifer and Brayden. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday Feb. 8 at Benson Funeral Services in Mt. Holly with Rev. Buck Harper officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:30. Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
