Roger William Cabe

Roger William Cabe, a beloved musician and devoted family man, was born in Gaston County on September 24, 1957. He passed away peacefully on February 14, 2025, at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas, NC. He was 67 years old.

Roger was a proud alumnus of Southeastern Bible Institute, now known as Southeastern University, located in Lakeland, Florida. His time at the institution played a significant role in shaping his musical talents and deepening his faith.

A long-time member of Evangel Assembly of God in Gastonia, Roger was a vital presence in his church community. He was a member of the praise team and showcased his musical prowess by playing multiple guitars, as well as the piano and trumpet. His passion for music extended beyond performance; Roger was also a gifted songwriter and dedicated much of his life to sharing his love for music with others.

In addition to his musical talents, Roger had an adventurous spirit. He was an enthusiastic theme park and roller coaster thrill-seeker, having ridden the three of the top coasters in the world. This love for adventure also sparked his creativity, leading him to build intricate roller coaster models. Whether he was soaring through the air on a coaster or baking delightful treats in the kitchen, Roger enjoyed every moment with a zest for life.

Roger’s family remembers him as a loving father and a cherished grandfather. He is survived by his son, Victor Cabe (Asya); his brother, Thomas Cabe; his granddaughter, Sienna Cabe; and several nieces and nephews who will carry on his legacy.

In addition to his parents, William and Rosemary Beaver Cabe, Roger is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Victoria Jane Cabe, and an infant brother. His family will forever treasure the memories of his kindness, creativity, and musical spirit.

A memorial service honoring Roger officiated by Rev. Rufus Johnson will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Evangel Assembly of God, 625 Neal Hawkins Rd, Gastonia, NC 28056 beginning at 1:00 PM and concluding at 3:00 PM. Friends and community members are warmly invited to celebrate the life and legacy of a remarkable man.
