Richard C. "Unk" Sherrill

Richard C. "Unk" Sherrill, 67, of Belmont passed away July 19, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Sherrill was born in Bryson City, NC on April 24, 1948 to the late Taylor and Maude McLean Sherrill. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Johnson, Gladys Dees, Geneva Duncan and brothers, Charlie and Buford Sherrill. He was a welder by trade. Loved music and his many guitars.

Survivors include his daughters, Heather Sherrill Byers of Lincolnton and Tammy Sherrill of Cleveland County. Brother, Ron Sherril and sisters, Ida Mae Ward, Rita Smith and Docia Mauney and also 5 grandchildren, Cody, Dalton, Brittany, Erin and Mason.

Family visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday July 24 at Benson Funeral Services. Inurnment will be private.
