Rev. Kenneth Ray Caldwell, Sr., 87, of Dallas passed away on February 7, 2022 at his residence. He was born on June 4, 1934 to the late Dock Paxton and Lillie Mae Caldwell. He is also preceded in death by six siblings. Kenneth was a 21 year retired U.S. Air Force Veteran and served in Vietnam. He was also a devoted Minister of 21 years, pastoring his first church at La Junta of Colorado, then later pastored at Jamestown Church of God, Derita Church of God, and several other churches. He was a current member of North Gaston Church of God. Kenneth enjoyed traveling in his motorhome and visited all 50 states. His favorite saying was "God is good and all the time God is good."
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Mary Frances Caldwell; children, Deborah Ann Schrader, Cynthia Gail Parks and husband Jerry, Kenneth Ray Caldwell, Jr., Kathy Elaine Standifer and husband James, and Bradley Stephen Caldwell and wife Trish; sister, Helen Crews; 21 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Satuarday, February 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at North Gaston Church of God, 1310 Dallas Cherryville Hwy, Dallas, NC 28034 with Rev. Andy Nicholson and Rev. Ted Smith officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont with full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Church of God's Childrens Home.
