Rebecca Sue Haynie Mote, 64, of Dallas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 2, 2016 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. Ms. Mote was born in Gaston County on December 27, 1951 to the late Howard and Novella Rhyne Haynie. She was also preceded in death by her husband Forrest Roger Mote Sr. and also 2 sons, 1 brother and 2 sisters. Rebecca was a longtime member of Revival Tabernacle Church in Stanley where she taught the Missionettes, Sunday School and was a member of the choir. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed flower gardening throughout the years. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her children, Wanda Lavender and husband Scott, Sharon Brendle and husband Rob and also Forrest “Roger” Mote, Jr. 4 grandchildren, Shad, Jessica, Brittnay and Reece. 2 sisters, Linda Bingham and Debbie Flowers and a brother Roger Haynie.
Funeral Services to celebrate Rebecca’s life will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday Feb. 6 at Revival Tabernacle Church, 212 S. Hwy 27 in Stanley with Rev. John Mayberry officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery “A Quite Place” in Belmont. Visitation will be held Friday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Benson Funeral Services in Mt. Holly.
