Paul "Pete" Waters

Paul "Pete" Waters, 84, of Belmont passed away Oct. 14, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Waters was born in Gaston County on July 29, 1930 to the late William B. Waters and Minnie Ballard Waters. He was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. He was a member of Catawba Freewill Baptist Church in Mt. Holly and also the Shining Light Trio. He was an avid car enthusiast, buying and trading cars over many years.

Survivors include his wife Polly Waters. Children, Paulette Hallman and husband Ron, Erin Long, Adam Long and Carrie Franks and husband Daniel. 1 sister, Louise Hurley and 5 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.

Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday Oct. 16 at Catawba Freewill Baptist Church in Mt. Holly with Rev. James Messer officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Gardens in Mt. Holly. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
