Michael "Mike" Staley

Michael "Mike" Staley, 59, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully May 16, 2015 at his residence. Mr. Staley was born December 21, 1955 in Portsmouth, Va. to the late Marvin Webb Staley and Virginia Marr Staley. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Teresa Staley Christenbury and Angela Staley Couick and also a nephew Benjamin David Spencer. Mike was a past member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and was past owner of Furniture Discount Center in Gastonia. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying life on the lake where he enjoyed boating and fishing.

The family will be conducting a celebration of life service at 5:00 PM Thursday, May 21 at Bethlehem Church South Campus with Pastor Dickie Spargo officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The family will also be receiving family and friends after the service from 6:30p.m. - 8:00p.m. at the home of Shawna Staley Bruce. Inurnment will be Private.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years Melody Staley. Daughters, Shawna Staley Bruce (Ray Jr.) and Crystal Shannon Staley, all of Gastonia. Brothers and sisters, Joseph Staley, Stanley Staley, Pam Staley Spencer (Jerry) all of Gastonia, Penny Holley (David) of Portsmouth, Va. and Mary Staley Armstrong (Bobby) also of Gastonia. 4 Grandchildren, Michael and Staci Bruce, William Knox Jr and Landon Knox. Numerous nieces and nephews and "best" friend, his pet dog Buddy Staley.
