Mary Floyd

Mary Elizabeth Floyd, 75, of Belmont passed away October 18, 2020 at her residence with her daughter by her side.  She was born on January 6, 1945 to the late Herman and Stella Brooks Mullis.  She is also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dean Floyd; daughter, Deborah Crews; son in law, Joe Green, Infant grandson, Ronnie Green; and her pet dog, Wacker.  Mary was a member at Cornerstone Family Worship in Mt. Holly.  She loved all of God's beauty; the mountains, birds, trees, animals.  Her hobbies included cooking and sewing and her favorite foods that she enjoyed most of the time were peanut butter, icecream; particularly Butter Pecan flavor,  and fish; especially filet of flounder.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to her nurse of 12 years, Pam Scott, for her loving dedicated care shown to Mary always going above and beyond to make sure she was well taken care of.  She always went out of her way for Mary; taking her to Dr. appointments; taking her on trips, to ballgames, to get her hair done, out to eat, yardsales, and much much more.

Survivors include her daughter, Anita Green; son, George "Junior" Geddings and wife Tammy; sister, Darlene Piet and husband Johnny; brother, Billy "Bill" Mullis; 6 grandchildren, Joy Keever, Travis Green, Amanda Zeock, Angie Geddings, Adam Geddings, and Terrell Civil; 26 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 12:00 p.m.at Benson Funeral Services, Mt. Holly with Rev. Kevin McClure and James Harper officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
