Marjorie “Margie” Ann Beam Sellers passed away at home, in the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Lincoln County, on March 3, 2022, just shy of her 96th birthday. Born on March 22, 1926 to Ambrose Cline Beam and Maude Black Beam, Margie had fond memories of being raised on a farm in Cherryville, NC. Her and her husband of 75 years, Howard “Pete” Sellers, moved to Belmont, NC building a life that they both enjoyed with many friends and family. They were members of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Belmont.
Marjorie was a wonderful, kind-hearted woman (with a little sass) that never met a stranger and loved to tell her life story to all that would listen. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her yard, and watching the birds. She was a talented quilter and artist that loved to share her work with others. She lived a wonderful life and is missed by all who knew her.
Marjorie is survived by her grandchildren, Shane (Gini) Sellers, and Maya (Brian) Love; 4 great grandchildren, Rachel and Zachary Sellers, Ethan and Emilee Love; and a niece, Sherry Wehunt Collins and her family. Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; daughter, Sybil Ellen Sellers Disbrow; great grandson, Mark Christian Sellers; both parents and all siblings.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2:45 p.m. at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC.
Flowers may be sent to Benson Funeral Home in Mt. Holly, NC. Memorials can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Lincoln County.
