Loretta Lee Lawing

Loretta Lee Lawing, 85, of Belmont passed away January 14, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gaston County on February 22, 1936 to the late Willie Franklin Lawing Sr. and Mary Kelly Lawing. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Blaine Lawing; infant sister, Jackleen; sister, Helen Johnston; and brother, Bill Lawing. Loretta was a member of the Journey Church. She loved the Lord and her precious family including her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She worked very hard to make sure all of her family knew Jesus. Loretta enjoyed housekeeping, crocheting, and flowers.

Survivors include her children, Debbie Lawing Calvert and husband Eddie, Rev. Tim Lawing and wife Susan, Tammy Lawing Short and husband Michael, and Lynn Lawing Brooks; grandchildren, Melissa (Aaron), Jonathan (Erin), Jeffrey, Brandon (Allison), Wade (Courtney), and Carmen; great grandchildren, Keylee, Noah, Landon, River, Charlotte, Lily, and Raelyn; and special family friend, Loretta "Putt" Glover.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 1101 N Main St, Lowell, NC 28098, with Rev. Tim Lawing officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Belmont.
