Linda Y. Foster, 76, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones at CaroMont Regional Hospital. She was born in Gaston County on November 21, 1946, to the late Fred and Maude Martin Elmore. Linda's warm spirit will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Despite experiencing loss throughout her life, including the passing of her beloved son Curtis Foster, sister Bobbie Sue Mills, and brother Jerry Elmore, Linda remained steadfast in her faith and found solace in her connection with God. As a devoted member of the East Gastonia Church of God, she found comfort and strength in the teachings of the Bible. Linda's dedication to her family was unwavering. Every Friday night was a special occasion for the Foster family as they gathered at Linda's house to play spades or phase 10 card games. The joy that radiated from these gatherings was a testament to Linda's love and nurturing nature. Cooking brought Linda immense pleasure, and she delighted in preparing meals for her loved ones. Her kitchen was not only filled with the smells of delicious food but also with warmth and love that made every gathering feel like home.
Linda is survived by her devoted sons David Foster and his wife Beverly, as well as Tommy Foster and his wife Rebecca. Her legacy lives on through her seven grandchildren: Faith, Hope, Cameron, Seth, Wojo, Dustin, and Jeffrey. Additionally, she leaves behind one great-granddaughter named Kodi.
A service celebrating Linda's life will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday Oct. 3rd at East Gastonia Church of God. Reverends Randolph Taylor and Glen Mecum will lead the service as they honor Linda's memory and the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The interment will be held privately.
Linda Y. Foster's light will forever shine in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering faith, love for her family, and warm spirit will be cherished and remembered always.
