Linda H. Clark, a beloved registered nurse and cherished member of her community, passed away peacefully at her residence on February 11, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on April 20, 1948, in Greenville, South Carolina to her father Ernest Hamby and her mother Rose E Hall. Linda dedicated her life to caring for others, embodying the compassion and commitment that defined her career in the healthcare industry. Linda is also preceded in death by sisters Carolyn Crosby, Patricia Bryant and a brother Jimmy Hamby.
Linda shared an incredible 56 years of love and partnership with her devoted husband, Ronald "Ron" Clark. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter and warmth. Linda was a proud mother, gracefully guiding her children, Duane Clark and his wife Christy, and Sheena Amos and her husband Steve, through life’s journeys. She also embraced her role as a stepmother to Robin Clark and his wife Jane, lovingly welcoming them into her family.
Her nurturing spirit extended further through her six cherished grandchildren: Christian and Shelden Clark, Elizabeth, Timothy, Amanda Amos, and Jennifer Clark Farina, who, along with her husband Nick, brought endless joy to Linda’s life. She found immense pride and happiness in each of their accomplishments and milestones.
Linda was not only devoted to her immediate family but also treasured her siblings. She shared a strong bond with her sister, Theresa Jenkins and her husband Bill Sr., sister Sandra Hardison and her husband Tracy, and her brother, Steve Hamby, and his wife Robin. Her family tree extended to several nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Linda also attended Alexis Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed her Sunday School class. She believed in Jesus as her Savior and prayed all would believe as well.
Linda had a passion for creativity and a zest for life. She found joy in crocheting, delighting in making new baby gifts, toboggans, and sweaters that brought warmth to those around her. A collector at heart, she reveled in amassing coins and unique rocks, each piece telling a story. Her times spent in front of the computer or playing bingo were moments of joy, laughter, and camaraderie. Known for being an excellent cook, she had a special place in her family’s hearts—her famous dishes and love for yellow roses will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Linda leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength, forever remembered for her deep devotion to family, her community, and her professional calling in nursing.
A memorial service celebrating Linda’s life will be held on February 17, 2025, at Alexis Baptist Church in Alexis, North Carolina at 3:00 PM with Rev. Scott Jenkins officiating.
