Lauren Baker Crossland, a devoted wife, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the age of 59. Born, on August 17, 1965 to the late Walter and Rachel Baker, in Gaston, NC.
Lauren was the devoted wife of Jem Crossland, with whom she shared 25 wonderful years of marriage. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Cheryl "Bunny" Robins, and her husband Dave; as well as her brothers, Stan Baker and his wife Connie, and Charlton "Chip" Baker. Her cherished nieces, Cheri Stringer and husband Chris and Juli Brocato and husband Andy will also remember Lauren fondly. Lauren was a wonderful homemaker by caring for their home on a daily basis.
Throughout her life, Lauren was known for her adventurous spirit and her love for the great outdoors. Whether she was in the sun at the beach or exploring the mountains, she found joy in nature’s beauty. A passionate motorcyclist, she often took to the open road, embracing the thrill of the ride. An ardent lover of music, she found inspiration in various genres, which accompanied her throughout her travels. Lauren also enjoyed being in the kitchen cooking whenever she could. Her two beloved pets Engine and Tiger will miss her immensely.
Lauren was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Baker and Rachel Brackett as well as her favorite pet Blitz.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Mt. Holly. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Mt. Holly Building Fund, 300 S. Main St., Mt. Holly, NC 28120.
