Lamar Shane Woody

Lamar Shane Woody, a resident of Gaston County, North Carolina, passed away on October 6, 2023, at the age of 55. He was born in Gaston County on March 22, 1968 to the late William and Velma Hall Woody. 

Lamar was known for his vibrant personality and his love for laughter. He had a knack for making people smile and was often regarded as the family jokester. His sense of humor brought joy to those around him, and he will be remembered for his ability to lighten any room with his wit.

In his leisure time, Lamar enjoyed a variety of hobbies. He found solace in flying drones and embraced the tranquility that came with fishing. Additionally, he had a talent for assembling model cars and model airplanes. These hobbies allowed him to express his creativity and provided him with a sense of fulfillment.

Lamar leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of his loved ones. He is survived by his daughter, Tasha Woody and her fiancé Chad Bradley as well as his son, Ryan Shane Woody. In addition, he is survived by his stepson, Brian Branigan and wife Amanda. Lamar also held strong family bonds with his sisters, Denise Campbell and Kelly Snyder.

His grandchildren, Brody, Angel, Preston, and Honesty were a source of great pride and joy for Lamar. He cherished their company and took pleasure in watching them grow. Lamar was also an uncle to nephews, Steven Snider, William Woody III, Josh Woody, and Mark Woody as well as niece, Trisha Smith and great nephew, Blayden Snider.

Lamar will be reunited in heaven with his late brother William Woody II and infant brother Mark Woody who preceded him in death.

Graveside Services for Lamar will be held at Wingate City Cemetery on Thursday, October 19th, 2023 at 1:00 PM.

Lamar Shane Woody touched the lives of many through his humor, kindness, and zest for life. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
