Kionna Sharnae Hicks

Kionna Sharnae Hicks, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, passed away at the young age of 31, on June 24, 2024 at the Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. She was born on September 15, 1992, in Bridgeton, N.J.

During her formative years at Central Gwinnett High School in Lawrenceville, GA, Kionna was known for her vibrant spirit as both a cheerleader and a member of the color guard team. She graduated with the class 2010 before furthering her education at Albany State College in Albany, GA.

One of Kionna's proudest accomplishments was her son, Bentley Wakai. She dearly loved him and poured her heart and soul into nurturing their bond.

Kionna is preceded in death by her brother, Kieron M. Hicks. She is survived by her mother, Christine Hicks and her partner Renee Thomas; son, Bentley Wakai; brothers, Kiajha Hicks and Savion Thomas; her grandmother, Marian Lawrence Hicks; niece, DeNiya Brooks-Hicks; and nephew, Major Brooks.

In celebrating Kionna's life, we remember her infectious laughter, unwavering love for her family, and the kindness she showed to all who knew her. Her memory will be cherished by those whose lives she touched.

May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she will forever hold a special place in the hearts of her loved ones.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Wavey Williams officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
