We bid farewell to Kim Leigh Ramsey (65), who passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Novant Health in Huntersville, NC, after an extended illness. Kim was born on August 24, 1959, the daughter of the late Rev. Howard Edgar Miller and Mabel "Peggy" Warren Miller, in Beckley, WV. Mrs. Ramsey attended Woodrow Wilson High School and Harrisburg Area Community College. She worked as a Human Resource Benefits Specialist for various Pennsylvania and North Carolina organizations. Ms. Ramsey liked to sing and enjoyed listening to and performing music. She also enjoyed attending musical productions in the Charlotte Area. Kim loved her Persian cats, Abbey and Pookie. She pampered and spoiled them regularly. Kim's caring nature was evident in her dedication to her family and friends. She spent countless hours calling and texting, always ensuring everyone was safe and happy. Her love for sending cards for every season and selecting special gifts for her family, nieces, and nephews was a testament to her thoughtfulness. She found joy in the happiness of others when they opened her gifts.
Mrs. Ramsey was preceded in death by her father and stepson, Jesse J. "Trey" Gonzalez III. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jesse Gonzalez, and his daughters, Jennifer Gonzalez Heymann and husband Michael, and Tabitha Gonzalez Hagen and husband Seth; children, Debbie, John and James; her mother, Mabel "Peggy" Warren Miller of Statesville, NC; sister, Mrs. Kelly Miller Cooper and husband Jim Cooper of Statesville, NC; nephews, Ryne Cooper and wife Ashley of Statesville, NC; Jacob Cooper and fiance Alexandria Argenti-Gibb of Mentor, Ohio; great nephew and niece, Ryder Cooper and Gracelynn Cooper of Statesville, NC; Aunt, Ann Spring Miller, of Beckley, WV; Aunt, Miriam Warren Walker, of Yulee, FL. as well as many cousins.
The memorial service to honor Kim's life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services in Mt. Holly, NC at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to join us at 1:00 p.m. to share their memories and celebrate Kim's life.
