June Carol Bishop

June Carol Bishop "MeMe", 60, of Mount Holly, passed away peacefully in her daughter's (Heather) home surrounded by all three of her loving children on Thursday, September 3, 2020. She was born in Mecklenburg County on June 29, 1960, the daughter of the late Rezen Hutchinson Spurrier and Lula Mae "Meme" Spurrier. June grew up on the Apache Camp Ground and loved the beach. She was a loyal and proud member of Finish Line Christian Center of Mount Holly, and was also loyal and devoted to specific stores and specific employees; June was known as a "regular". June enjoyed walking in her neighborhood, talking to her neighbors, walks in the park, and shopping. She was very caring, funny, and feisty, and never met a stranger. She often kept her grandchildren at her house, which she loved to do. Above all, June loved her family, her love for them is what made her fight so hard during the nine months she battled cancer. Simply said, she was a great mother, grandmother, and lady.

June is survived by her daughters, Heather Goodman and husband Scott, Shanoma Bishop and boyfriend Jeff Holmes; son, Joshua Ballard; grandchildren, Hunter, Derek, Nick, Savannah, Nolan, Paisley, Leland, Charlie, and one granddaughter that is on the way, Hattie June; former husband, Tim Bishop; and feline companions, Midnight, Bacon, and Kitty Kitty.

The family would like to thank Carolina Caring Hospice, and Gaston Radiology and Oncology, for their caring, loving, and compassionate care while caring for June.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2020, 2:00 P.M. at Finish Line Christian Center, Mount Holly, with Pastor Shannon Williams officiating.
