Judy Walker

Judy Sutton Walker, 62, of Belmont, passed away peacefully from this world on Sunday, September 26th, 2021 surrounded by her children.  Judy graduated from John Marshall High School with the Class of 1976. She worked for Bed Bath & Beyond and enjoyed greatly the time she was able to be there. Judy was known for her faithfulness to her family and God. She was a faithful member of Pentecostal Worship Center in Gastonia, NC and enjoyed decorating her church for the holidays and planning their events with her great friend, Anita. Judy enjoyed singing for God any chance she got and anywhere she could. She believed in the power of prayer and prayed faithfully for every single person she knew, but especially her children, their spouses and her grandchildren. Judy loved children and dedicated her life to serving in Children’s Ministry at church.

Judy loved her five children with a fierceness and passion that is unmatched. She was so proud of each of them, the families they have built and the way they serve God. She left a legacy of love, prayer and dedication for her family.

Judy is preceded in death by her mother and father, Helen Davis Powell and Gordon Sutton; her brother, Philip Gordon Sutton; and her sister, Marilyn Ann Connolly.

Left to cherish the legacy she gave them are her children, Douglas Richard Walker, III (Jessica) of Belmont, NC, Casey Walker Christopher (Jason) of York, SC, Philip Daniel Walker (Natalie) of Gastonia, NC, Gordon Bryant Walker (Ashley) of Belmont, NC and Timothy Jeremiah Walker (Haley) of Mount Holly, NC; grandchildren, Kevin, Kasen, Gavin, Braelyn, Sailor, Hunter, Connor, Emery, Blake, Jaylen, Blaire, Lucas, Miranda and Kylie; brothers Micah Sutton and Timothy Sutton (Angie) both of Indiana; many nieces, nephews and special friends are also left to cherish her legacy.

Her Homegoing celebration will be held Thursday, September 30th, 2021 at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services, 101 Oak Grove St., Mount Holly, NC 28120. Visitation will be held from  11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 and a graveside service will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont.
