Judy Stamey Rathbone

Judy Stamey Rathbone, 78, of Gastonia passed away June 4, 2023 at her residence.  She was born on June 19, 1944 to the late Ernest and Mary Aderholt Stamey.  She is also preceded in death in 2012 by her husband of 44 years, Ray Rathbone.  Judy was an active member of Independent Baptist Tabernacle Church in Dallas where she enjoyed ministering to the shut-ins.  She recorded all of the church services on CD's and delivered to each shut-in.  She enjoyed camping in the mountains and at the beach.  Judy also loved to babysit her grandchildren and other's children and dearly loved her pet Yorkie, Charlie.

Survivors include her son, Ervin Ray Rathbone and wife Kimberly; daughter, Reba Rathbone Creason and husband Stephen; sisters, Wanda Inscoe and Vickie King; brother, Ronald Stamey and wife Margaret; grandchildren, Seth and wife Sarah, Tripp, and Luke; special niece, Brittney Green; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Independent Baptist Tabernacle Church, Dallas with Reverends Brian and Michael Spargo officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow immediatly at the church cemetery.
