Joyce Causby

Joyce Colvin Causby, 85, of Stanley passed away September 24, 2023 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.  She was born on October 26, 1937 to the late James Guy Colvin and Pauline Elsie Stallings Colvin.  She is also preceded in death by her husband, Barry Causby and her first husband, John Barkley; daughter, Sabrina Caskey, sister, Becky Miller; brother, Jackie Bryant; and grandson, Christopher Caskey.  Joyce loved music and dancing, especially shagging.  She enjoyed playing on pool leagues, playing cards, cooking, trips to the beach, and spending time with friends.

Survivors include her children, John C. Barkley Jr. and wife Tamara, Michael Steven Barkley and girlfriend Jena Carlisle, and Audrey Barkley Fogarty; sisters, Doris Messer, Laura Mitchell, and Debbie Bryant; brother, Dickie Bryant and wife Marlene; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A casual gathering will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall at West Cramerton Baptist Church, 5006 Wilkinson Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28056.  Food will be provided.  Please join us to share your favorite stories and memories of Joyce's life and if you have any pictures to share please feel free to bring.
