Joseph Lee Worthington Patterson

Joseph “Joe” Lee Worthington Patterson Sr., unexpectedly passed away on October 2nd of 2024, at the age of 42 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina following a heart attack on September 28th. On September 29th, the family learned Joe had very little brain activity and would pass when taken off the ventilator. Joe remained on the ventilator until October 2nd to test and match his organs for donation. 

Joe was born to Emma Dodson and the late Mike Patterson on January 16th of 1982, at NC Memorial Hospital (now UNC Hospitals) in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. After high school, Joe worked in construction, and he worked the last ten years as a machinist. Joe was a hard worker and a great provider for his family. On January 25th of 2006, Joe married his best friend, Tiffany Stanton. Joe and Tiffany were the best of friends for many years before they fell in love and were married. They have had 27 wonderful years together. They have three beautiful children – Joseph (18), Hailey (14), and Maximus (6). Above all else, Joe was the best father and husband – he was loving, kind, caring, and devoted. He made sure his sweet family was taken care of. Tiffany and their children will cherish all the memories Joe helped create – he was the life of everything!

 Joe was preceded in death by his father and older brother (Cless Patterson). Joe is survived by his wife, children, mother and three siblings (Richard Patterson, Christy Meeks, and Harley Sharpe) along with a host of other family and friends. Joe was taken from us far too soon. He is missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
