Johnsie McClish

On March 1, 2021, at the bright age of 50, God called Johnsie Rebecca McClish (Becky) home. A native of Plainfield NJ, she spent the majority of her youth upstate until later settling down in the Carolinas where she began to raise her 7 children.
Johnsie had a great heart and a personality that was a wonder to be around. She had a huge desire to push forward in any capacity and to be a better version of herself. leading her to donate her time to different community organizations, signing up for classes at local community colleges and becoming involved in the church.
She loved African and Jamaican cultures. She would wear headdresses, garbs, beads and various inspired fabrics to express the heritage and joy she had for the cultures. When she dressed up you wouldn't dare miss her with colors full, precisely wrapping her 6 foot frame to her liking.
Johnsie was extremely proud and happy of her children. with all whom she had intimate conversations with she never failed in mentioning them.
She is survived by her children David McClish (wife: Valery McClish), Lacy Brunson (wife: Antayia Brunson), William McClish, Johnsie Rebecca McClish, Jacob McClish, Kennette Bess, Carmelo Bess, grandchildren, parents: Johnsie Brevard-Cleveland and Tony McClish and her siblings.

Johnsies viewing will be held at 3 pm Saturday March 13, 2021 at Benson Funeral Services, 101 Oak Grove St. Mt. Holly, NC 28120.
