John Benjamin Rikard

John Benjamin Rikard, 45, of Belmont passed away April 23, 2022 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.  He was born on December 16, 1976 to Jeffrey Ray Rikard and Sandra Robinson Bingley.  John was a loving father, son, brother, and friend.  He was employed as a Superinterdent by Capps Construction & Plumbing, Inc.  He enjoyed his job where he developed many friendships.  He learned to speak Spanish from many of his Hispanic friends on the jobsites.  John loved fishing, camping, cooking, and enjoyed feeding a large crowd of people.  He was also a talented artist with a particular interest in science fiction characters.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Jeff and Sherry Rikard; mother and stepfather, Sandra and Roy Bingley; sons, Ben and Lawson Rikard and their mother, Angie Rikard; sisters, Julie Rikard and Stacie Byford and husband Donald; brother, Scott Rikard and wife Melanie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Catawba Heights Baptist Church, 311 Belmont Mt Holly Rd, Belmont, NC 28012, with Rev. Raymond Johns officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.  Graveside services will immediately follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia.
