Jerry Owensby

Jerry Owensby, 60, of Gastonia passed away on April 4, 2022 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.  He was born on June 22, 1961 to the late Melvin Jerry Owensby Sr. and Mary Mathis Owensby.  He is also preceded in death by his brother, Joe Owensby and sister, Mary Ramsey.  Jerry was always full of life and a hard worker.  He would always help anyone he could.

Survivors include his companion, A.J. Jenkins; sisters, Annette Martin (Chris), Wanda Snipes, and Pam Smith (Chris); brother, Doug Owensby (Shannon); nieces, Hannah Dickerson, Cierra McDonald, Emma Smith, Elaina Smith, Alley Smith, and Felicia Ramsey; nephew, Justin Jenkins; great-nieces and nephews, Willow Jenkins, Adalyne Jenkins, Nyoni Cruz McDonald, Joshua Ramsey, Zariah Ramsey, Chase Ramsey, and Christopher Ramsey.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. at Benson Funeral Services, Mt. Holly with Rev. Dennis Gomez officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
