Jeffery Charles Shoemaker "Vern"

Jeffery "Vern" Charles Shoemaker, 58, of Iron Station passed away on September 19, 2022 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.  He was born on August 31, 1964 to the late Charles Harold Shoemaker and Martha Wooten Shoemaker.  He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Neil Ballard and Wesley Ballard.  Vern was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a Union Electrician and employed with Miller Electric Company.  He was also a member of the IBEW #379 for 35+ years.  Vern was a handyman that also enjoyed saltwater fishing, playing his guitar, working in the yard, gardening, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Donna Deese Shoemaker; daughter, Donna Leanne Shoemaker; son, Justin Deese and wife Kayla; sisters, Kim Shoemaker, Jackie Reid, and Ellen Gotses; grandchildren, Liam, Madison, Olivia, Ava, and Ivy; nieces, Reagan and Amy; numerous friends; and brothers and sisters of the IBEW #379.

A Memorial service will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services, Mt. Holly.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.  Family will also be receiving friends at Justin and Kayla's home after the service and also on Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
