Jean Helton Tripp

Jean Helton Tripp, 87, of Stanley, passed away May 6, 2023 at her residence surrounded by family. Jean was born in Burke County, NC on November 10, 1935 to the late Carl and Mary Franklin Helton. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Celestine Hall and Ruth Nations and brothers Wilbur and Jimmy Helton. Jean was a lifelong member at First Baptist of Stanley. Jean taught Sunday School as well as Bible Study at McLurd Manor Retirement Center for 12 years. She also taught a Sunday School class at First Baptist. She had volunteered often when needed at her church. She enjoyed her family but her love for her grandchildren was enormous. Jean was a textile worker and also was a past certified EMT at Stanley Rescue. Survivors include her son Faron M. Nantz and wife Carol. Sisters, Mildred Pate and husband Bud and Vickie Elizabeth Whitener. Two grandchildren, Daniel Nantz and wife Amy and Samuel Nantz and wife Tracy. Five great-grandchildren, Caleb, June, Cailyn, Rhys and Landon. Numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service's to Celebrate Jean's life will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday May 10 at First Baptist Church of Stanley with Rev. Sherman Branch officiating. Visitation will be at 12:00 prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
