James Aaron Watkins, 77, of Bessemer City went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2024 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
He was born in McDowell County, NC on February 11, 1947 to the late Sarah Gallagin. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather to all his grandchildren. Aaron was a U.S. Army Veteran and Lifetime Member of the VFW, Member of the American Legion, and the Gaston County Honor Guard. He was preceded in death by his mother Sarah Gallagin; Son, Dewayne Bradshaw; 6 Brothers; and 2 Sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Juanita Pearson Watkins and many other family members.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Love Memorial Baptist Church, 311 East Walnut Ave. Gastonia.
Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Criswell and Scott Rudisill Officiating.
Burial will be in the Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC
In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Love Memorial Baptist Church, 311 East Walnut Ave,. Gastonia, NC 28054 or to The Gaston County Honor Guard, 1012 Woodlark Court, Gastonia, NC 28056
