James Robert Johnson, known to his friends as W7TYG, passed away peacefully Monday at age 92. James devoted his life to helping others, teaching critical thinking skills, and enjoying music, amateur radio, computers, and astronomy. He devoted his life to sharing his knowledge as a teacher in Wilder and Payette High School for over thirty years. He is preceded in death by his son Michael Dean Johnson. He is succeeded by his cherished wife Leora of 67 years, their children Richard and Louise, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He will be interred in a private ceremony in Portland Oregon. A celebration of his life with friends here in the Treasure Valley will be held at the end of June. Details to follow. Memorial Donations can be made to Treasure Valley Music Association, Treasure Valley Amateur Radio Club, or any student scholarship fund. He would love to be remembered as one who helped others follow their dreams.
