James "JT" Inscoe, 85, of Gastonia passed away October 12, 2022 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas. He was born on July 8, 1937 in Oxford, NC to the late James Franklin Inscoe and Annie Sue Milton Inscoe. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Albert Inscoe. JT was a devout Christian and faithful member of Dallas Church of God for 30 years where he formerly served as treasurer of the church. He shared the Gospel of Jesus with every person he talked to through flashlights and $1 million dollar bills. JT was retired from Freightliner. He was a devoted husband and family man bringing smiles and laughter to everyone. His grandkids and great grandkids were the apple of his eye. He was known to his many nieces and nephews as "Uncle T-Bone." He enjoyed his frequent shopping trips to Goodwill, taking trips back "home" to Oxford, NC, and he also made the best BBQ and stawberry pies for all the family gatherings.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Wanda Stamey Inscoe; daughters, Tonya Inscoe and Delena Mauney and husband Doug; sisters, Doris Williams and husband Jack and Linda Wilcox; brother in law, Ron Stamey and wife Margaret; sisters in law, Rev. Katherine Inscoe, Vickie King, and Judy Rathbone; grandchildren, Justin Whittington and Brittney Green and husband Justin; and great grandchildren, Emma, Peyton, Reagan, and Pyper.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Dallas Church of God with Rev. Danny Shortridge officiating. Visitation will be held 30 mins prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen "A Quiet Place" Cemetery, Belmont.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Robin Johnson House, Gaston Hospice, 258 E. Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054.
