Howard "Dean" Head

Howard "Dean" Head, beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on April 22, 2025, at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 5, 1953, in Gaston County to the late Earley and Rosalee Monk Head. Dean lived a life filled with passion, characterized by his loving spirit and zest for life.

He was a family man, and his legacy will live on through his sons, Joe Kendall and his wife Ligia, and James Kendall and his wife LeeAnn. Dean is also survived by his brother, Grady Head and wife Debbie; his sister, Connie PeQueen; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews who will fondly remember him.

Dean had a rich tapestry of interests that brought him joy. He was an ardent fan of NASCAR racing and showed unwavering support for the Carolina Panthers. His love for cooking allowed him to share delicious meals and moments with his family and friends, leaving behind fond memories of time spent around the dining table.

In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 37 years, Joyce Head, in 2015. The bond they shared brought him immense joy, and their memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew them.

A visitation will be held on April 28, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 PM at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 101 Oak Grove St., Mt. Holly, NC 28120. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Dean's remarkable life and sharing in the memories that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
