Grace Y. Homesley

Grace Y. Homesley, 82, of Mt. Holly passed away October 15, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. Ms. Homesley was born in Gaston County on May 6, 1932 to the late Samuel Young and Edna Heaffner Young. She was also preceded in death by a son Robert "Bobby" Homesley, three sisters, Willie Welch, Maudie Funderburk and Frances King and four brothers, Charlie, Fred, Jimmy, and Sam "Bud" Young. She was a former member of Catawba Heights Church of God where she also taught Sunday School.

Funeral Services to celebrate Ms. Homesleys life will be 3:00PM Friday Oct. 17 at Benson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Dennis Bean officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery "A Quiet Place" in Belmont. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include her children, Douglas Homesley of Eden, Md., Victoria Stowe and husband Donnie, Sarah Homesley and Pat Moore, all of Mt. Holly. Two grandchildren, Anne and Scott Stowe and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
