Gloria McCarter Navy

Gloria McCarter Navy passed away on February 11, 2023 at the age of 79. She was born in Shelby, NC to Maude Owens McCarter and Kelly McCarter of Kings Mountain, NC on March 7, 1943. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William F. Navy; daughters, Susan Castelli (Mike) and Meredith Navy; sister, Kay Carlisle; grandsons, Josh (Autumn), Blake, Michael, Alex; two great grandsons, July and Mason; many cousins whom she loved and adored; and nieces and nephews.

Gloria was a loving, selfless, kind, honest, mother, and best friend.  She was truly one of a kind.  She loved all friends, past, present and those not yet met. She loved Jesus Christ and was ready to be with him. She was active in the Methodist Church bible study group and book clubs. Gloria enjoyed going to her grandsons baseball games and acting in plays. She had a sense of humor, laugh and smile that was contagious. So long.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:00 p.m., March 11, 2023 at Covenant UMC, 6824 Tuckaseegee rd., Charlotte, NC 28214.
