Glenda Faye Tate

Glenda Faye Tate, of the Dallas, NC community, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2023 at Peak Resources in Gastonia at the age of 84. She was born on November 13, 1938 to the late George Tate and Virginia Pruett Tate. Glenda will be dearly missed by her loved ones as she leaves behind a legacy filled with kindness, compassion, and dedication.

Glenda proudly served in the US Air Force, an experience that shaped her into the remarkable woman she became. Glenda's commitment to her country was commendable and earned her the respect and admiration of those who knew her.

Her love for the natural world was evident in her passion for yard work and gardening. Glenda found solace in nurturing her plants and took great joy in witnessing their growth. Her green thumb brought beauty to her surroundings and served as a reminder that life should be cherished and nurtured.

Glenda had an adventurous spirit that fueled her love for travel. Whenever an opportunity presented itself, she would embark on exciting journeys, exploring new places, immersing herself in different cultures, and creating unforgettable memories along the way. Each trip was an opportunity for Glenda to expand her horizons and appreciate the wonders of our diverse world.

Beyond her love for nature and travel, Glenda had a soft spot for animals, especially cats and dogs. Her heart overflowed with love and compassion for these creatures, leading her to devote much of her time to rescuing them. Glenda held a genuine belief that every animal deserved care, comfort, and a forever home. Her efforts in this regard were truly admirable and made a meaningful difference in countless lives.

Glenda will forever be remembered as an extraordinary woman whose kind words and warm smile brightened the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind beautiful memories that will be cherished by her lifetime partner, Bernice Strohl. Their love and companionship were a source of strength throughout their journey together.

In addition to Bernice, Glenda is survived by her cherished sisters, Margaret McQueen, Judy Benton, and Barbara Tate, as well as her brothers, Edgar Tate and Jack Tate. She was predeceased by her brothers, Virgil Tate, James Tate, and Billy Tate, as well as her sister, Betty Looman. Glenda's impact on her extended family cannot be overstated, as she leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whose lives have been forever touched by her presence.

Services honoring Glenda's life will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tri County Animal Rescue. The organization was close to Glenda's heart and any contribution in her name would undoubtedly continue the legacy of compassion she built during her time with us.

Glenda Faye Tate's departure has left a void in the lives of all who knew her. However, let us take solace in the fact that we had the privilege of sharing our lives with a remarkable woman whose legacy will forever inspire us to embrace life's adventures with open hearts and unwavering kindness. May she rest in eternal peace.
