Evelyn Mae Messer

Evelyn Mae Messer, 85, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2015, at the Brian Center Health & Rehab in Gastonia. Ms. Messer was born July 20, 1929, in Gaston County, to the late Joseph and Mary Stroup Turner. She was a member of First Wesleyan Church and was retired after 20 years of service with Wix Filters in Gastonia. She was preceded in death by Horace Reid Messer. Survivors include her children, Jack Messer (Brenda), Joseph Keith Messer (Donna) and Denise Carlin; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial services to celebrate Ms. Messer's life will be 3 p.m. Sunday at First Wesleyan Church, Gastonia with the Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be private.
