Eulalia “Ya” Gause, 97, of Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, May 1,
2023. Born February 24, 1926 in Pickens County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Oscar S.

from Spartanburg General Hospital School of Nursing where she spent 38 years of dedicated
service in the Nursing Division as a staff and Head Nurse at the Spartanburg General Hospital.
Eulalia was also an active member of the SGH School of Nursing Alumni Association.
A wonderful Mom and wife, Eulalia was a role model of caring and giving to others, whether
nursing her patients back to health or taking care of her beloved husband Homer in his final
years or traveling to wherever her grand-children were to take care of them when they were
sick - at a moment’s notice. Ya was a kind person with a keen wit, and quiet dignity, that made
her an incredible influence on all lucky enough to have known her. Eulalia was blessed with
amazing energy and resiliency in her longevity. Though she will be greatly missed, her presence
will always be deeply felt. She found joy and fulfillment sharing time with family, and spending
endless hours outdoors attending to her flower and vegetable gardens.
Eulalia was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Spartanburg, which later
transitioned to Calvary Baptist in Boiling Springs, SC.
