Eugene Hester, Jr., 75, of Stanley, passed away on November 3, 2023 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas. He was born on November 12, 1947, in St Paul, NC to the late Eugene and Olive Collins Hester.

Having served in the US Army, Eugene Hester, Jr. was a proud veteran who demonstrated unwavering loyalty to his country. His courage and bravery are eternally appreciated. In addition to his military service, Eugene cultivated many interests throughout his life. An avid fisherman, he relished the peaceful moments spent by the water's edge with a fishing rod in hand. This passion brought him both solace and great excitement.

Throughout his life he lived fully - embracing every moment with profound love for those around him. He leaves behind a legacy built on kindness, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to family.

Eugene is survived by his three sons, Travis Hester, Michael Hester, Jason Whitley, daughters;  Beverly Martin (son-in-law Doug), Marci Wilson, Beverly Hester, Sisters; Bobby Spivey, Libby Brite, and brother Billie Hester; 15 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Their bond throughout the years served as a source of strength and support for one another, demonstrating the power of family unity.

The memory of Eugene Hester, Jr. will forever be held in the hearts of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His unwavering love and care created a foundation of strength within the family, ensuring that his spirit lives on through every generation to come.
