Erica Fay Welch

Erica Fay Welch, a beloved soul with a heart as vast as the ocean, left this world unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at the young age of 32. She was known for her unwavering kindness and caring nature, always willing to help others without a second thought. Erica's presence brought warmth and light to all who knew her.

Born in Gaston County to William "Ed" Welch Jr. and Sherry Fisher Welch, Erica came into this world on September 13, 1991. From a young age, it was evident that she had a special gift for compassion and love, traits that would define her life.

Erica's love for dancing was just one of her favorite hobbies. Her graceful movements spoke volumes about her spirit and brought joy to those around her. Alongside her passion for dancing, Erica's proudest accomplishments were her children and nieces and nephews whom she cherished deeply.

In addition to her parents, those who will carry Erica's legacy forward are her children, Damien Spencer Jones, Dustin Keith Hunsucker Jr., Roxie Iris Hunsucker, Levi James Hunsucker, and Gunner Zane Welch-Hunsucker; her sister, Stephanie Antionette Welch; brother, William "Ed" Spencer Welch III (Hannah Poteat); grandfather, Bill Welch Sr.; and numerous nieces and nephews - Malaki, Rieghleigh, Bentley, Austyn, and Braidyn.

In saying farewell to Erica, we remember not only the wonderful life she lived but also the love she shared with those around her. She is preceded in death by her previous partner, Devin Jones, and nephew, Raidyn Welch. While she may no longer walk among us, her memory will forever be engraved in our hearts.

As we mourn the loss of Erica Fay Welch, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she shared. May her kindness and compassion continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, dear Erica.
