Elizabeth Coco Fields Nee (Squitieri) was a woman of remarkable grace and faith who touched the lives of so many. She passed away peacefully in bed at her residence on July 11, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Born on May 27, 1942, in Belleville (Silver Lake), NJ to her parents Anthony and Elizabeth Squitieri, Liz led a life filled with passion and purpose. Her proudest accomplishment came on Easter Sunday in 1976 when she dedicated her life to Jesus Christ, becoming a devoted member of Bethel Assembly of God in Nutley and later Newark, NJ. Elizabeth's love for singing led her to serve as the choir director at the churches where her angelic voice inspired many. She was often told she could "sing like an Angel," a testament to her unwavering faith and joyous spirit.
In addition to her beautiful voice, Elizabeth was known for her skills in the kitchen where she crafted delectable Italian recipes that brought joy to family gatherings. Her love for cooking was rivaled only by her passion for crocheting. This talent allowed her an opportunity to gift friends and family beautiful blankets and scarves to celebrate baptisms, additions to their families, and other wonderful occasions, as well as a way to help those less fortunate in her community.
As an avid prayer warrior, Elizabeth's faith guided her on missions to Central America where she shared her message of love and compassion with those in need. She also traveled to Egypt and Israel, fulfilling a life long dream to walk the streets that Jesus did. Now, she is walking along the streets of gold with her Saviour.
Elizabeth was a former wife of the late Anthony "Tony" Coco and was a widow of Robert Fields. Elizabeth's family meant everything to her. She is survived by her children Ronnie Louis Coco Sr. (Jannette) and Anthony Coco (Angel), as well as grandchildren Anthony Coco III (Ali), Ronnie Coco (Chelsea), Rachel Fisher (Ethan), Daniel Coco (Sarah), and Andrew Coco (Kelly). Her great-grandchildren Asher, Wyatt, Isla, and Cameron brought immense joy to her life. Elizabeth is also survived by her loving sister Camille Tonelli (Giancarlo) and brother Mark Squitieri (Bonnie) along with her sister-in-Law BettyLou. Preceded in death: Brother Tony Squitieri, and sisters Nina Vandean (Ralph) and Louise Catania (Joe). Nieces Kim, Sharon, Robin, JoyAnn, Leslie and Nicole. Nephews Joseph, Anthony, Mark T and Mark S.
