Douglas "Doug" Michael Crews

Douglas "Doug" M. Crews, 64, of Mt. Holly passed away July 19, 2018 at his residence.  Doug was born on August 25, 1953 in Gaston County to the late Elmer and Mary Kate Hance Crews.  He is also preceded in death by his two infant brothers.  In his younger years, Doug attended Cramerton Freewill Baptist Church and later at Sunset Forest Baptist Church in Gastonia.  He enjoyed spending time in the mountains, fishing, and woodworking.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Elizabeth "Libby" Whittle Crews; a daughter; stepson, Patrick Marcengill and wife Shannon; stepdaughter, Lisa Townsend and husband Danny; brother, Keith Crews and wife Donna; nephews, David and Mark Crews; grandchildren, Dylan, Alexander, Charity, Braxton, and Shasta; step granddaughter, Katlyn; step grandson, Randy; and best friend known as his "brother from another mother," John Lee.

A memorial service to celebrate Doug's life will be held Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Benson Funeral & Cremation Services, Mt. Holly with Pastor Mark Crews officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Inurnment will be private.
